Hello Wild Runners,
It’s been a while since our last catch up. We’ve been so busy running with you all that we forgot to send out a newsletter. This edition is short, exciting and includes some important updates so if you are in a rush make sure you skim the headings now and delve a little deeper when you have a spare moment.
(Not really) Christmas BBQ
Depending on how you view it, we’re seven months too late or five months early. Either way, we’re putting on a Wild Runners celebration! Join us at The Trail Co. in Bardon on the 23rd July at 3pm for snags to celebrate another great year together. All you need to bring is drink and your party mood. Please find more details and RSVP on our Facebook event page. If Facebook isn’t your thing then just shoot us an RSVP by email.
A heads up that our Monday Toohey Forest Trail Lover session will be moving to a Tuesday. Our first new Tuesday sesh will begin on the 19th July. Same venue, same time, same coaching, just a different day. This will give everyone a chance to rest and recover after what is often a long run on a Sunday. See the updated calendar for more details and we hope to see you at what can now be called Trail Lover Tuesday!
Fancy a shiny new pair of Inov8 TrailTalon 250s to see in the Spring? The Trail Co. are giving away a pair to one of their supporters. Pretty good of them 😉 To be in the running (no pun intended), you just have to join their mailing list and share a picture of the trails you plan to take the shoes out on in the comments section of the competition post on their Facebook page. The winner will be picked on Fri 8th after 6pm so get in quick!
Race and Run Reports
Wild Runners seem to laugh in the face of short days and cold weather, so there has been plenty of training and racing going on. It’s been great seeing the preparation and dedication you all put in, even when we know you just want to be tucked up at home!
June and the start of July saw some pretty big events off and (more importantly) on the trails, including the Gold Coast 100, Cairns Ironman, Geo Quest, True Grit and the Gold Coast Marathon amongst others. If you have any photos or race reports, please send them through to us on email so we can share them with everybody. We’d love to live vicariously through you all!
We don’t know how we have been so lucky but we seem to have attracted a truly awesome bunch of people to run with us. If you have yet to come for a run, please feel free to join us as sessions cater for all abilities. Come along to your first session for free to see what we are all about.
That’s it from us for now. As always, we look forward to seeing you out on the trails or at our party!
