Train with Purpose!

Hello Wild Runners,

It’s been an exciting few weeks here at Wild Runners HQ. We’re so happy to see so many new faces and to help many of you take your first steps towards your goals. If you spot someone you don’t know at a session, take a moment to say hello and make them welcome. Finding friends to run with is as important as getting fit for the trails! Don’t use this chatting as an excuse to miss an effort though!!!

Last Sunday we were at Enoggera Reservoir for Round 1 of the Brisbane Trail Running Series and it was a great event. With a huge proportion of the 300 runners new to trails, the series is an exciting addition to the trail run calendar. Our photos of the event are here. Can you see yourself?

Brisbane Trail Running Series - Round 1

Round two of the series is at Bayview CP at Redland Bay on 9th November. This course is notably flatter than Enoggera Reservoir and will have less of the wide fire tracks and more of the funner, smaller technical trails. Subscribe to our youtube channel to keep an eye out for the course preview video.

What’s next? We will be perfecting our technique and building strength over the next few weeks to go into our next race stronger. If you want to go all in, consider our Mountain Goat session. It’s hard but you will come out stronger and fitter for your next run. Our night sessions will focus on making sure you can maintain your speed as the going gets dark (and tough), and in our Friday sessions we will be working on finishing a race as strong as you started.

Brisbane Trail Running Series - Round 1

If you are new to running don’t forget we have some awesome Technique sessions. Trails are the perfect place to get into running. There’s no cars or crowds to get in your way, the terrain builds agility whilst being softer on your joints (no hard pavement pounding!) and you’ll be in a small group so you can go at your own pace and build confidence. Don’t wait until you’re ‘fitter’, ‘stronger’, ‘more confident’… the best way to see all that happen is to get started!

Mountain Goat Training Session

Whatever your goals, it’s important to identify why you want to run and go after the things that will help get you there. Train with purpose!

See you soon!
